When you do an e-mail launch you can choose between three options in regards to the anonymity of the survey; none, partial and full.
Note: Link launches are fully anonymous.
The degree of anonymity you choose, affects the possibility to send reminders/automatic reminders, automatic responses, raw data file content, and overall tracking of responses.
No anonymity allows the system to establish a connection between the respondents' e-mails and names and their survey status.
With no anonymity you are able to:
- Fully track responses by having access to respondent's names and their survey status (complete/incomplete/no reply/refused)
- Send reminders/automatic reminders
- Send automatic responses
- View respondents' information (full names) in raw data files
Partial anonymity allows the system to establish a connection between the respondents' e-mails and survey status. You will be able to track responses and act upon them, e.g. send reminders to respondents who have not yet compelted the survet. However, you will not have access to the respondents' information/names.
With partial anonymity you are able to:
- Track responses by having an overview of their survey status (complete/incomplete/no reply/refused)
- Send reminders/automatic reminders
- Send automatic responses
... you are not able to:
- View respondents' information (full names) in raw data files. The fields will read anonymous instead.
Full Anonymity prohibits the system to establish a connection between respodents' e-mails and survey status. You will still be able to track responses but cannot act upon them. In other words, you cannot send reminders to respodents who have no yet completed the survey.
With full anonymity you are able to:
- Track responses by having an overview of their survey status (complete/incomplete/no reply/refused)
... you are not able to:
- Send reminders/automatic reminders
- Send automatic responses
- View respondents' information (full names) in raw data files. The fields will read anonymous instead.
Pro tip: If you need to conduct an anonymous survey, we recommend you launch your surveys with partial anonymity, since it keeps your respondents' identity anonymous but you are able to send reminders and auto responses.
